How it Works
The Melbourne Unlimited Attractions Pass offers savings of up to 40% on combined admission prices. You can choose from the 20+ attractions above, which include the best attractions in the entire city.
This pass gives you access to an unlimited number of attractions for three or seven days. You must use those days consecutively, but can visit as many things as you can fit into a day during the life of the pass. You have a year from the date of issuance to start using the pass.
The product is a plastic Smart Card with a computer chip. You present the pass to the attraction, they scan it and give it back to you, and you’re all ready to explore.
What’s Good?
Obviously, people love the great value you get from the product. You have the potential to save up to 40% off combined admission prices.
The variety of attractions also makes the pass an appealing product for many different types of travelers. It’s not limited to one kind of activity or style of travel. Plus, you’ve got over 20 top attractions to choose from.
The pass is also easy to use. You don’t need to keep track of tickets or booklets, just hold on to that card and present it at each attraction. Although a few things may require reservations, you’ll know that in advance.
This product in particular is popular because of the unlimited access to attractions. You can do as many things as you can fit into a day of sightseeing!
Another useful feature is the full color map and guidebook. You can use this to help plan your itinerary, and don’t need to deal with looking up each individual attraction.
How Could the Pass Get Better?
The Melbourne Unlimited Attractions Pass only gives you a week to see attractions. While most vacations probably fall within that time frame, if you happen to be around longer you’re not able to use the pass for the entire trip.
The pass only covers general admission, so if there’s any special exhibits or extra experiences you want to enjoy, you’ll have to pay for those separately.
The Melbourne Flexi Attractions Pass also includes their “Show and Save” discounts on extra things. Unfortunately, the Unlimited version does not, which is a little disappointing.
There are also a few attractions that are available on the Flexi Pass which aren’t available to Unlimited Pass holders. It would be better if they were consistent.
Unlike other markets, there really aren’t many options which allow you to skip the line with the iVenture pass. Sometimes this won’t be a problem (like with smaller museums and historic homes) but with big things like the Eureka Skydeck 88, you’ll wish you could skip the line.
Other options include the Day Tours Combo Pass by iVenture Melbourne.
Get Your Money’s Worth
The easiest way to maximize the value of the Melbourne Unlimited Attractions Pass is to see and do as much as possible. The more you use the pass, the greater value you’ll be getting. If you don’t want to spend your vacation being quite so busy, however, the Melbourne Flexi Attractions Pass might be a better option.
We also recommend using the pass for the more expensive attractions. They calculate their savings percentage based upon the pricier things, so you’ll get closer to their estimation of 40% if you do the same thing.
Insider Tips
Because the pass is only good for consecutive days, it makes sense to plan alternative inside days in the case of extreme heat or rain. You don’t want to miss out on using the pass for a day if the weather acts up.
Although both the Eureka Skydeck and the Melbourne Star Observation Wheel provide excellent aerial views, the Skydeck is more centrally located with regards to other top attractions and may slot into an itinerary more easily.
Sometimes iVenture adds or drops attractions from their Melbourne products. Consult their website for the most up-to-date information, so you can be sure that something you want to do is still available.
People also appreciate the interactive map on the iVenture website. It shows all the participating attractions in Melbourne, and allows you to filter them and plan your itinerary.
Where to Buy It
The iVenture Melbourne Unlimited Attractions Pass is available online or over the phone.
You may also purchase the pass in town once you arrive at a number of specified purchase locations. However, you will likely pay more for the pass than you would if you purchase in advance, online.
