The Helsinki Card gives you free admission to 50 major museums and attractions in Finland’s capital. The card is available for 24, 48, or 72 consecutive hours and is activated and time stamped the first time you use it. Prices start at 35€ for a 24-hour pass, and as with any tourist card, the more places you visit the more you’ll save.

The Helsinki Card is no longer available. We recommend a similar product, the Go Helsinki Card. It has a really great set of included attractions and you can save an extra 10% using the link and coupon code below.

What’s Good?

Free transportation and admission at Korkeassari Zoo and Suomenlinna Sea Fortress are both excellent values.

What Could get better?

There are no line-skipping privileges with the Helsinki Card. When you present it at an attraction, the attendant will write down your card number, so it’s not a quick swipe-and-go process.

Get Your Money’s Worth

This pass is best for avid museumgoers, as you will have to visit at least three to make a 24-hour card worth the cost.

Insider Tips

The Audio City Tour is a 90-minute narrated bus tour with headphones that allow you to listen in Chinese, English, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Latin, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, and Helsinki dialect. It’s a good way to get oriented as you begin your visit to Helsinki.

Trams 3B and 3T on public transportation are also good ways to sightsee downtown, but don’t include narration.

Where to Buy It

The card is available at many outlets. You can buy it at Expedia, Orbitz or Travelocity or you can buy it once you get to Helsinki but these are not great options as you may pay more. The best place the buy the card is at the Viator website. Viator guarantees the lowest prices, no-fee cancelling, no-fee date changes, 24/7 customer care, and airline miles (with a minimum spend).
