How the Cape Town Unlimited Premium Pass Works
The Cape Town Unlimited Premium Pass provides admission to all of the included activities, tours, cruises, and more, as many as you can fit into the life of the card during normal operating hours.
The pass is purchased in increments of 3 or 5 days, giving you the chance to visit however many attractions you’d like for 3 or 5 consecutive days.
You also get your choice of one premium attraction, chosen from the list above. Many of these attractions require reservations, so be sure to decide in advance what you want to see as they may be tight on scheduling.
The Cape Town Unlimited Premium Pass is good for one month from the date of issuance, so purchase the pass close to the time you want to travel.
The pass is easy to use, just like a credit card. With their Smart Card technology, all you need to do is swipe the pass at the admissions counter or gate for your chosen attraction, and you’re all set to enter.
What’s Good?
The most appealing thing about this and other iVenture products is the clear value you get from the pass. The website says you’ll save up to 50% on combined admission costs, and offers the breakdown of gate admission costs to demonstrate how they got that amount.
A favorite attribute with iVenture customers is also the flexibility to see what you want. There’s no need to decide in advance when you purchase the pass, just pick and choose as you go. This can also help large groups who want to split up and do separate things.
The unique thing about the Cape Town Unlimited Premium Pass is the freedom to choose one of those premium attractions, making for a really special experience that will make the trip truly memorable.
The pass is convenient and easy to use, with no hassle of tickets or booklets. Just present your Smart Card at the attraction and you’re ready to enjoy the activity.
You’ll also appreciate the full color guide that comes with each purchase. It provides useful information about each of the included attractions and helps you plan your trip.
Another great benefit is their “show and save” discounts, which provide discounts on things like dining, shopping, and special experiences. It’s a real added value to the product and helps you save even more.
How Could the Pass Get Better?
This pass is only good for a number of days purchased, so there is some limitation in what you can see or do. If your premium attraction takes several hours, for example, then you’ll lose some time you could have spent seeing other attractions.
A real potential downside is the consecutive day limitation. If your plans change, or the weather gets bad, there’s not much flexibility to reschedule a day of sightseeing. You need to use the card or lose the day.
The Cape Town Unlimited Premium Pass also only includes general admission (with the exception of some premium attractions). So, if you want to add on a special exhibit or animal encounter, you’re paying out of pocket.
You can also only choose one premium attraction. This may seem a limitation because all eight options are exciting and fun choices. Especially given the high jump in price between the Cape Town Unlimited Attractions Pass and the Premium Pass, it may seem a bit unfair.
The premium attractions also often come with additional charges on top of what you’ve paid for the pass (usually something like a security deposit), so keep that in mind when choosing which attraction to enjoy.
If you want more options, you may want to consider one of the other iVenture Cape Town Cards, the Flexi Attractions Pass or Unlimited Attractions Pass.
Get Your Money’s Worth
First and foremost, it’s important to visit as many attractions as you can with the pass. The more you do, the more you save.
The second most important consideration when maximizing your value for the Cape Town Unlimited Premium Pass is choosing which attractions to visit. It’s generally a smart bet to choose the most expensive attractions. If you want to see something inexpensive, consider saving it for after the life of your card.
Make sure to keep travel costs in mind, too. The pass does not cover transit to most attractions, and although you can use the sightseeing bus tour to get to some places, it doesn’t go everywhere. Be sure to budget wisely!
You should also be smart when choosing your premium attraction. Some choices would cost more out of pocket than others, so compare the gate price (listed on the iVenture website) of the attractions you’re considering to see if there’s a big difference.
Insider Tips
The pass is good for the number of consecutive days purchased, so be careful not to activate your pass in advance by using it for discounts on shopping or dining.
Keep in mind that some of the things you want to do may require reservations – check this info in advance so you aren’t left scrambling the day of when the cruise you want to go on has no open slots.
The Cape Town Unlimited Premium Pass also allows you to skip the line at select attractions. Check the guidebook or website to see which attractions offer this benefit, to help save you time.
iVenture periodically changes the included attractions. Consult their website or call customer service for the most accurate list of available attractions to make sure what you’re interested in is still available on the product.
Where to Buy the Cape Town Unlimited Premium Pass
The Cape Town Unlimited Premium Pass is available online directly from iVenture or over the phone.
You may also purchase the pass in town once you arrive at a number of specified purchase locations. However, you will likely pay more for the pass than you would if you purchase in advance, online.
