Visitors to Houston, Texas’s largest city, come for the great weather, tons of parks, professional sports, and thriving arts and theater districts. The Houston CityPASS is a great way to sample five of the city’s best attractions. CityPASSes are pre-paid, tear-out ticket booklets that offer more than 40% savings on admission, plus skip-the-line privileges at many attractions.

In Houston you can visit Space Center Houston (and be one of thousands of people to say the famous Apollo 13 line, “Houston, we’ve had a problem.”), the Downtown Aquarium, and the Houston Museum of Natural Science. Then, depending on your interests, choose either the Houston Zoo or the Health Museum, and either the Museum of Fine Arts or the Children’s Museum of Houston as bonus attractions.

What’s Good about the Houston CityPASS?

You can skip the lines at most attractions with a CityPASS.

This is a very family-friendly City Pass. All of the attractions are great for kids.

Admission to Space Center Houston includes a NASA tram tour through working areas of the Johnson Space Center.

Exhibits at the Houston Children’s Museum are bilingual in English and Spanish.

Admission to the Health Museum also includes a 4-D science film.

What Could get better?

If your schedule will accommodate it, many of the attractions have times when they’re free to the public, so your CityPASS may not be much of a value in the end. The Houston Museum of Natural Science is free to the public from 2 to 6 pm on Tuesdays. The Museum of Fine Arts is free every Thursday. The Children’s Museum is free on Thursdays from 5 to 8 pm.

All of the IMAX presentations and special exhibitions at the Houston Museum of Natural Science cost extra— from $9 to $25 extra for adults.

Parking can fill up quickly at the Houston Zoo if you don’t arrive early in the day.

Get Your Money’s Worth with a Houston CityPASS

Although you can only choose one from each pair of the bonus locations, your CityPASS does entitle you to discounted admission at the second location.

At Downtown Aquarium, City Pass holders can get unlimited rides on the train, Ferris wheel, and carousel for a $5 upgrade.
