The See Syndey & Beyond Attractions Pass from New South Wales-based Australian company Smartvisit Solutions is a pre-paid, inclusive attractions pass that’s good for admission to more than 40 attractions in and around the city. Available in 2-, 3-, and 7-day cards, it features attractions for visitors of all ages and interests.

NOTE: The See Sydney Card is now the iVenture Sydney Card available in two types: The Sydney Flexi Attractions Pass and the Sydney Unlimited Attractions Pass.

Prices start at $AU 149.00 for a 3-day adult card, or $AU 109.00 for a 3-day child’s card, which is good for ages 3 to 15. The card is also available “with transport” for a few dollars more, which is good for a MyMulti Day Pass (3 Zones) or MyMulti2 (Weekly -2 Zones) ticket, depending on the length of your See Melbourne pass. This gives you unlimited rides on most city public transportation.

Cultural and historic attractions include the Elizabeth Bay House, a restored 1830s home that was once considered the finest in the colony; the Hyde Park Barracks, which takes you up close to see what life was like for the earliest residents of the former convict colony; and the iconic Sydney Opera House.

Visitors with kids will enjoy the Sydney Aquarium, Sydney Wildlife World, and the Powerhouse Museum’s many hands-on exploration activities. Many of the tours represent huge savings, including the Grey Line bus tour (normally $AU 70 per person) and the Oz Jet Boat ($AU 60).

You have 12 months from the date of purchase to activate your See Sydney & Beyond Attractions Pass, which is then valid for the number of consecutive calendar days that you’ve purchased.

What’s Good?

The See Sydney pass comes with a color-coded guidebook that will help you plan your itinerary around the island.

You only have to visit two attractions per day to realize savings on your card, so you won’t have to race to visit everything to feel like you’re getting your money’s worth.

You can visit most attractions once per day for the duration of the card—even the Oz Jet Boat ride (normally $AU 60.00 per person).

What Could get better?

Many attractions are located in the suburbs, so visitors relying on public transportation may have a hard time getting enough value from the card, as their travel time will be much longer.

All sales are final and there are no refunds, even if you never activate your card.

Get Your Money’s Worth

The company offers group discounts, so you may be able to save even more if you’re purchasing more than $AU 1,000.00 worth of passes for a group.

Most attractions close around 5 pm, but you can get the most out of your last day in Sydney by saving the Sydney Aquarium (closes at 8 pm in the summer) and the Sydney Skywalk (closes at 10 pm) for then.

Transportation passes are available directly from the State Government and can be purchased online, so make sure you really need unlimited rides before choose this “with transport” option with your pass. One local who used the pass for a “stayvacation” found that even with using public transportation exclusively, she would have paid less buying tickets as needed.

Insider Tips

This pass covers a large geographical area. Plan ahead using the guidebook to make sure you can reach all your chosen attractions in time. The drive from downtown Sydney to the Jenolan Caves, for example, is about three hours.

Book the Oz Jet Boat tour for a weekday. There’s a surcharge on weekends and holidays that is not covered by the See Sydney & Beyond pass.

The Grey Line bus tour has a different itinerary on the morning departure than on the afternoon departure. You can do the tour once per day for the duration of your card, so you can see both itineraries if you choose.
