CityPASS is a pre-paid ticket booklet with admission tickets to a handful of the most popular tourist destinations in several major North American cities. Unlike smartcard-style passes where customers have unlimited admission to a wide variety of attractions, CityPASS narrows the selection to only marquee destinations and offers admission at around half off the price if tickets were purchased separately.

Launched in 1997 in San Francisco and Seattle, CityPASS has grown to include Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Hollywood, Houston, New York, Philadelphia, Southern California, and Toronto. CityPASS holders have nine consecutive days from the day the first ticket is redeemed to use all of their tickets (14 days for the Southern California CityPASS). Aside from the financial benefits, CityPASS holders are able to skip the ticket line at most destinations, saving time and stress.

Most CityPASSes include admission to attractions like art museums, historical sites, science centers, zoos, and observation decks. The Southern California CityPASS is good for up to 30% off admission to major theme parks, like Disneyland, Universal Studios, and Sea World. Each ticket, which is non-replaceable and should be treated like cash, has detailed attraction information on the back, including hours and how to redeem.

More than 7 million CityPASS booklets have been sold since 1997, and an independent survey showed 99% satisfaction among past customers. The company’s headquarters is in Portland, Oregon, and their customer service department is based in Victor, Idaho.
