Atlanta has always been a business and cultural hot spot in the southeast, but its reputation as a cosmopolitan capital has kept growing since the 1996 Summer Olympic Games. The Atlanta CityPASS is a booklet with vouchers for six different attractions, ranging from art museums to TV studio tours. For $74 for an adult pass and $54 for kids, you can visit the Georgia Aquarium, the World of Coca Cola, and the Inside CNN Studio Tour. You can also choose one each from the following pairs: High Museum of Art or the Fernbank Museum of Natural History, and Zoo Atlanta or the Atlanta History Center.

Although you can only choose one of the bonus locations, your CityPASS does entitle you to discounted admission at the second location.

Make sure to get your free All Rides wristband at Zoo Atlanta, normally $8.50 for an adult all-day pass.

At the Atlanta History Center, CityPASS holders can get $3 off admission to the Margaret Mitchell House, where the author wrote Gone with the Wind.

Insider Tips

The Inside CNN tour is by timed ticket, but you can make reservations in advance by calling (404) 827-2300. Your best chance at seeing a live broadcast is between 10 am and 3 pm, Monday through Friday.

Saturdays are the busiest day at the Georgia Aquarium. Make sure kids have a pair of socks for the children's play area—bare feet aren't allowed.

Animals are more active in the morning and often nap or retreat to shady spots in the afternoon, so make Zoo Atlanta your first stop of the day. It would be a good activity to pair with a trip to the Fernbank Museum of Natural History, which is less crowded in the later afternoon after school groups have left.
